Transcript:

Phil: Naoko, I was going to ask if you could officiate our wedding.

Phil: However, in my research I found some issues. A lot of strangely worded laws.

Naoko: Well, I am pretty familiar with legal documents. What exactly is the issue with it?

Phil: In this state, they already had some rather loose rules on wedding officiators. However, about 5 years ago there was a huge change that explained the "right to refuse" for officiators. Getting a marriage license is easy, but the ceremony must be performed by a legal officiator. That is… I'm pretty sure this was rigged to stop chimera weddings.

Naoko: Seriously?

Naoko: That's ridiculous.

Phil: Maybe I didn't read it right? I'm worried.

Author's Post:

Weird additions to prevent Chimera weddings? Surely the legal system in America wouldn’t allow such things! Wait, wasn’t there a case a few years back where a man stole a horse and upon looking up the crime they realized the penalty was still death for horse theft? A common issue with most laws is a lack of defined intent, so people start making up intent for their own purposes!
